Inside Arabian Nights

Some songs come from a feeling you can't name. Arabian Nights is one of those.

It started with a beat at 2am — slow, hypnotic, with this Middle Eastern string sample that wouldn't leave my head. I'd been watching old Hollywood desert films on mute, with my own playlists running over them. Something about that contrast — silk and sand, sweetness and danger — got into the music.

The EP is about wanting something you shouldn't. Falling for someone who feels like a secret. Late nights you don't talk about in the morning.

I wrote most of it alone in my bedroom in Sydney, headphones on, the city quiet. Some songs poured out in one sitting. Others took me weeks to figure out what they actually wanted to say.

There are five tracks. Each one is a different room in the same house — same mood, different door.
